Social-skills groups are available for teens and young adults.
The groups use the UCLA PEERS program model. The six-week session helps youths with brain-based differences such as Aspergers, ADHD or anxiety that affect their success at making and keeping friends.
DVDs showing social communication are part of lessons that include: rules and steps for social skills, expanding social opportunities, handling peer rejection and plans to enhance friendships. There is one spot left in the 18-26 year old group.
For more information, call Liza Tregillus at 749-9607.
Enjoy happy hour, Spanish conversation
Happy Hour Spanish, a conversational Spanish practice including some grammar review, is available.
The class size is limited to six people. This is for individuals who want to maintain a basic level ability to communicate, not true beginner level. There are two spaces available.
