The city of Durango has contracted Four Corners Materials to mill and repave these streets beginning Monday:

Aquarius Place.

Willow Place.

West 24th Street, from Main Avenue to West Third Avenue.

Crestview Drive, from Montview Parkway to Delwood Avenue.

Roosa Avenue, from 9th Street to El Paso Street.

Parking on these streets will be restricted for the duration of the work. Residents should refer to temporary no-parking signs in designated street work zones for no-parking dates and times.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible because of lane restrictions and construction equipment in roadways.

County’s facilities plan to be discussed

La Plata County commissioners on Tuesday will discuss and accept public comment on the county’s long-term facilities strategy, which includes the possible acquisition of 10 Burnett Court in the Durango Tech Center.

Public comment will be accepted during the board’s regular business meeting, which will be held at 10 a.m. in the new County Administration Building Board Room at 1101 East Second Ave.

La Plata County entered a lease at 10 Burnett Court for three years from May 1 through April 30, 2018, with an option to purchase the property on June 1, 2016. The space will be used to house the La Plata County Department of Human Services.

La Plata County also entered into a contract to purchase the property at 211 Rockpoint Drive. The La Plata County Building and Planning departments will be relocated there.

County commissioner to host office hours

La Plata County Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold office hours for the general public to meet with her from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Pine River Library Conference Room, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, in Bayfield.
