The Durango High School Class of 1970 is still looking for a few classmates.

Almost all 300 graduates have been located. An additional 100 classmates have been invited who attended Durango schools and would have graduated in 1970. People who know of a graduate or anyone who would have graduated in 1970 are asked to call Alice Ferguson at (970) 708-0219 or email [email protected].

The class reunion will take place Aug. 7-9. A free picnic will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at Santa Rita Park. Anyone who went to DHS and would like to see 1970 graduates are welcome. Participants should bring their own food.

Residents asked to complete survey

Durango residents are invited to participate in a new online survey on Virtual City Hall.

Although the local economy has recovered from the Great Recession, the city continues to address capital-improvement projects and maintenance that were deferred during the recession. One such need that has not been addressed is aging city facilities. Numerous city facilities are more than 30 years old and were converted for their current use from another purpose.

The survey asks for input concerning potential sources of funding to address facility needs, and it will be available at www.durangogov.org/virtualcityhall through Aug. 1.
