La Plata County Commissioner Julie Westendorff will hold office hours for the general public to meet with her from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 13 at the Pine River Library Conference Room, 395 Bayfield Center Drive, in Bayfield.
Westendorff will meet with Bayfield-area residents to hear their interests and concerns.

Golf event to benefit Cortez nonprofit
The seventh annual Medicine Horse Masters Golf Event Fundraiser will take place Aug. 22 at the South Forty (par 3) Golf Course, 2550 Road H in Cortez.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The driving range will open at 7:30 a.m.; tee off will be at 8:30 a.m. The event will be a scramble format with a shotgun start. The Four Person Scramble will include nine holes of golf, course drinks, lunch and hole prizes. A limited number of golf carts will be available for a $10 fee. If people bring their own cart, the fee is $5. Pull caddies also are available. All event proceeds will help fund Medicine Horse Center therapeutic programs for area youths and families. The cost is $25 per player. People are asked to register in advance.

Do-it-yourself divorce seminar
A free “Doing Your Own Divorce and/or Custody in Colorado” seminar will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
The seminar will be presented by a volunteer attorney from Southwest Bar Volunteer Legal Aid.
