The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will continue a series of “On the Road” meetings at 7 p.m. Monday at the Vallecito Lake Community Center, 17252 County Road 501 in Bayfield.

Quilters guild to meet Thursday
The La Plata Quilters Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road.
Karen Preston will present a trunk show of her landscape quilts. Preston did several of the squares in the guild’s raffle quilt. A landscape workshop by Preston will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Time bank to offer introductory talk
Hour Exchange La Plata, the local time bank, will host a free introductory talk and software orientation from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pine River Library, 395 Bayfield Center Drive in Bayfield.
People considering joining the time bank should bring a laptop (preferable) or mobile device for the orientation.

County commissioner to host office hours
La Plata County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt will hold office hours from noon to 2 p.m. Monday.
However, because of the Environmental Protection Agency’s use of the La Plata County Fairgrounds as its Incident Command Center, Lachelt will meet with visitors in her office at the County Administration Building, 1101 East Second Ave.

Senior center to offer computer classes
The Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave., will offer these computer classes from 9 a.m. to noon:
Ipad Tips and Tricks will take place Tuesday. Participants will review basic operations and explore tips and tricks to help them get the most from their iPad. Participants will explore apps and related issues, keyboarding, settings, Internet, photos, troubleshooting of common device issues and more.
Computer Trips and Tricks Part 1 will take place Thursday. Participants will explore current technology with tips on email, the Internet, eCommerce, digital photos and safe computing.
The instructor will be Jon Cordalis, The Computer Tutor, and the cost is $15 per class.

Old Fort Farm is FLC’s veggie place
The Old Fort Farm Stand will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday near the Fort Lewis College Student Union.
The stand will offer spinach, mixed greens, romaine, arugula, curly kale, chard, radishes, snow peas, broccoli, green and yellow zucchini, colored carrots, red beets, shishito and jalapeño peppers, green beans, onions, fresh garlic, basil, flat-leaf parsley, cilantro, basil pesto, cilantro pesto, arugula pesto, kale chips, dehydrated onions, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, roasted green or poblano chiles, grass-fed beef and local pork.
