Fort Lewis College will present the Common Reading Experience featuring various events.

The first event will be the Life-Long Learning presentation titled “Answering Your Questions about Autism” at 7 p.m. Thursday in Room 130 of Nobel Hall at FLC.

The Common Reading Experience book selection is Thinking in Pictures: My Life with Autism, by Temple Grandin. Grandin, who is autistic, is a gifted animal scientist who has designed one-third of all the livestock-handling facilities in the United States.

Economist delivers GOP luncheon speech

Southwest Republican Women will host speaker Mark Aspiri, economist and international businessman, at a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.
