Fort Lewis College alumna Alexandria Bombach traveled to Afghanistan to meet and tell the story of Afghan photographers working there. Her documentary, “Frame by Frame,” will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at FLC in the Vallecito Room of the Student Union.
Afghan photographers risked their lives following their passion under Taliban rule, which criminalized photography. After the U.S. intervention in the country forced the Taliban out of power, these photographers emerged from the shadows. Yet the future is uncertain for photography in Afghanistan as unrest continues and the U.S. is drawing down its forces.
The film showing is sponsored by FLC Peace & Conflict Studies. Bombach will not attend this showing.
