The 42nd Holiday Bazaar will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive.

The bazaar will feature vendors, crafts, plants, Trash to Treasure, homemade food, baked goods, handmade items and pie by the slice. A sloppy joe luncheon will begin at 11 a.m. All proceeds will go to local, national and international missions.

Volunteers sought for library board

The La Plata County Board of County Commissioners is seeking interested individuals to serve on the Ignacio Community Library District Board.

The board oversees the operation and administration of the Ignacio Community Library. Terms are five years and applicants must reside within the boundaries of the library district. This position is advisory and is not monetarily compensated. Hours extended for insurance sign-up

San Juan Basin Health Department announces that it will offer extended hours for people needing to renew or begin their health-insurance coverage through Connect for Health Colorado.

Assistance will be available on Saturday and Dec. 12 for people not able to meet during regular business hours. To schedule an appointment, call 335-2021.

In addition, San Juan Basin Health is co-sponsoring a walk-in enrollment and information event from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 19 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. Assistance and information will be available from employees of San Juan Basin Health, the La Plata Family Centers Coalition and local insurance brokers. On that date, anyone wishing to enroll or get more information about Connect for Health Colorado or Medicaid can stop by without an appointment.

Southern Ute gift shop to host sale

The Southern Ute Museum Gift Shop, 503 Ouray Drive in Ignacio, will host a sale on Nov. 21, Dec. 5, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19.

Discounts of 10 percent will be offered on purchases up to $75. Discounts of 20 percent will be offered on purchases of more than $75.
