The Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado State Patrol and law enforcement agencies will partner under The Heat Is On campaign to increase DUI enforcement through Monday.
The Heat Is On campaign runs throughout the year with 12 specific high-visibility impaired driving enforcement periods centered on national holidays and large public events. Enforcement periods can include sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and additional law enforcement on duty dedicated to impaired-driving enforcement.

Powerhouse extends hours during holidays
The Powerhouse Science Center will be open additional days during the holiday season.
The center is currently open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
In addition to its regular days of operation, the center also will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on these dates: Nov. 27, Dec. 22-24, and Dec. 29-31. Hours of operation will return to the regular schedule on Jan. 2.

Singing with Santa to be held Friday
The Singing with Santa caroling procession and lighting of the community Christmas tree will take place Friday.
Participants should meet at the First National Bank of Durango parking lot by 5:45 p.m. Santa, Mrs. Claus and members of the Durango Chorale Society will lead the caroling procession up Main Avenue to Buckley Park to light the tree.
Glow sticks will be given to the first 1,000 children, free hot chocolate and cookies will be available at Buckley Park.
People may bring their camera to take free photos with Santa.
