Durango Film to hold appreciation party

The Durango Film’s 2016 volunteer appreciation party will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Ska World Headquarters. There will be a chance to meet the new volunteer coordinator, Jeananne Morrow.

La Plata County Fair holds theme contest

The La Plata County Fair Board is currently accepting theme ideas for the 2016 La Plata County Fair.

Themes should reflect the community nature of the fair. Theme or slogan should have the length of ten words or fewer. Artwork is encouraged, and work can be dropped off or mailed with the theme concept submissions at the La Plata County Extension Office at the Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. Submissions should be labeled with the participant’s name and phone number. Entries must be received by 5 p.m., Feb. 18. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize.

City Councilors plan special meeting

A special City Council meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the North Conference Room in the Durango City Hall, 949 East Second Ave.
