Durango Hula Ohana will present a first dance presentation and gifts to the community at 6 p.m. Thursday in Room 24 of the Smiley Building, 1309 East Third Ave.
A special collection of dances will be performed.
Sacred Heart holds Friday fish fry
Sacred Heart Parish will host a Lenten fish fry from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Parish Hall, 254 East Fifth Ave.
Baked and fried fish, breaded and battered, french fries, coleslaw, dessert and drinks will be served.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, and children 5 and younger are free.
La Plata County Thrive! will meet Monday
La Plata County Thrive! Living Wage Coalition will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Commons Building, 701 Camino del Rio.

Mancos Public Library events announced
Mancos Public Library has released a schedule and information about its programs.
The adult program provides the following events:
Knit or Crochet will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays. Teens and adults are welcome. This is a free program. For more information, visit www.mancoslibrary.org, call 533-7600, ext. 206, or email [email protected].
A free class for Spanish speakers trying to improve their English skills will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday.
Free legal clinic will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. every second Thursday.
The teen program provides the following events:
Teen Tech Week at the library will take place from March 6 to 12. Activities will include access to the library outside normal hours to create videos to enter into the Colorado Teen Video Challenge. Also offered are sessions on lifeskills, recycling tech into new things and a digital scavenger hunt. For more information, visit mancoslibrary.org.
Teen Game Night will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. every third Friday.
A movie night will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. every first Saturday of the month.
The youth program provides the following events:
Kids storytime. A bilingual, seasonal story time for ages birth through 6 years old will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday.
Movie Mondays will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Free movies targeted at elementary-age kids will be shown. Movie night will not be offered on the second Monday of the month.
Game Daze will be held from 3:45 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday. This event is for youth 8 to 12 years old. Opportunities to play technologically innovative computer-generated games will be provided.
Upcoming events at Pine River Library
Pine River Library announces the following events:
The Mesa de Charla community potluck and discussion series with a celebration in honor of Mexican-American hero Cesar Chavez will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. March 2. All ages are welcome. Participants should bring a favorite dish to share and join the party.
The Latino Americans: 500 Years of History film series will conclude the same week with the final episode being shown at 7:30 p.m. March 4 at the library. This award-winning series chronicles Latinos in the United States from the 16th century to present day.
These events are a part of the Latino Americans: 500 Years of History grant provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
