Your Fourth of July article online June 29 about activities in the Four Corners included every community in the area – except Bayfield. The Bayfield parade is one of the most iconic, well-attended small-town parades in the area. The parade used to be so small that it went around twice, confusing first-time visitors. And don’t forget the fireworks in downtown Bayfield.
Please don’t forget us. There is a lot happening in our town. More people would subscribe to the Herald if you covered those events.

Bayfield
Editor’s note: Thanks for flagging our omission so quickly – which allowed us to update the online version and include Bayfield in print (Herald, July 1). The story of the parade going around twice and confusing first-time visitors gave us a smile, and it’s clearly grown into something special. We recall one year when the entries were so numerous that the head of the parade came around before the tail had begun to move – which Bayfield, of course, took in stride. We’ll do better.
