The event will celebrate the newly renovated facility at 1060 East Second Ave., which includes the U.S. District Court, the Sixth Judicial District, La Plata County Court and other public offices.
The $5.4 million remodel of the first floor was partially funded by a $1.9 million energy impact assistance grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and an additional $1.4 million from the U.S. General Services Administration. The GSA will lease 6,655 square feet of courthouse space from La Plata County for 10 years for $1.7 million.
The dedication ceremony will feature remarks from La Plata County Commissioner Julie Westendorff and other local, state and federal representatives.
