We want to preserve the “neighbor” in our neighborhoods. In our opinion, the ADU ordinance recently adopted, and going into the registration and enforcement phase, advances the quality of rental housing for Durango residents by adhering to building codes and life-safety codes. Also, we want to publicly express our support for the 3 percent cap on vacation rentals in the EN-1 and EN-2 neighborhoods. We support the City Council amendments to the LUDC to negotiate retail marijuana shops in the mixed-use neighborhood zones on a neighborhood-by-neighborhood basis. We believe that these proposed amendments to the LUDC are in the best interest of residents of Durango’s established neighborhoods.
