La Plata Electric Association’s recent departure from Tri-State is an exciting milestone that prioritizes local generation and affordability. Navigating this new path requires a board with the experience to lead during this historic transition. That is why Jenn Jenkins is my choice to represent District 3.
I first met Jenn through Rotary, where she lives out the “Service Above Self” motto every day. She is a friendly and positive leader who genuinely enjoys serving the community.
Beyond her character, Jenn understands the energy landscape. She has spent her career helping develop policies to diversify the nation’s energy portfolio. Jenn is a pragmatist who understands the role of transitional resources such as natural gas. At the same time, she insists on the “honest conversations” necessary to ensure our community understands the long-term impacts of energy choices.
She also has the ability to anticipate strategic challenges before they arise, helping ensure that our power supply remains both affordable and sustainable.
