Hummel was the top woman in the 12-kilometer ski and second woman in the 6K snowshoe to place first in the combined competition for Queen of the Mountain in 1 hour, 40 minutes, 7 seconds.

Ilg was second in the classic ski and seventh in the snowshoe to place first overall among men in 1:38:34. John Gilbert of Mancos was second overall in 1:55:57.

In the Jan. 17 18K freestyle cross country race, Caleb Thompson of Durango was first overall in 1:04:57. Hummel was second among the women in 1:07:58 and Deb Sussex of Durango was third in 1:10:11.

Peter Mech of Durango blew away the field in the 6K snowshoe, finishing in 35:28, more than 6 minutes ahead of second place.

More than 200 racers competed in nine events, including fat-bike races, during the three-day festival.

In the fat-bike events, Durangoans Richard Bagienski, 67, and Martha Iverson, 65, were first men and women, respectively.
