After reading all three letters, it’s a puzzle as to how Harrigan came to the conclusion that conservative letter-writers are submitting “a pile of Fox/Limbaugh talking points that they recite verbatim as fact.” He obviously has never read my letters or Brian Van Mols’ letters. Even if you throw in the “one-trick-pony” letters from Denise Murray, Vi McCoy or Clover Green, they don’t even come close to meeting his criteria of “Fox/Limbaugh talking points.”
For the record, the Herald limits letter writers to a single submission in a one-month period. The Durango Telegraph used to be pretty liberal (pun intended) in printing opposing viewpoints to their progressive agenda.
This is the second time the Herald has printed a controversial letter from an east coast source slamming the few conservative Herald letter writers in the Four Corners. Perhaps the editorial board at the Herald needs to examine its policies of printing letters from writers far outside Four Corners. Or, better yet, drop the once-per-month rule.
