I have friends who are extremely liberal and friends who are extremely conservative. I listen to and respect all of their points of view. My exposure to such diverse political opinions has convinced me that our state and our country will be best served by compromising on the major issues that we face. Constant political infighting, without legislative progress, is not an option. Gun ownership is one contentious issue where Mike McLachlan has worked hard to use common sense to find the common ground.

He has not suggested that our Second Amendment rights be subjugated. He has proposed and supported enforceable, common-sense gun ownership laws. These laws are a moral imperative, not a path down a slippery slope.
