The district wants to have the 100-year-old clock in working order when the city of Durango takes possession of the building on May 1. The school district wanted to take the clock that was dedicated in 1921 to its new location in Bodo Industrial Park, but it was determined the clock was too heavy and too fragile to move. In addition to giving the time, the clock also rang the bells between class periods.
