A functional airport is an essential tool in keeping my business, its 1,200 employees and clients from points across the United States working and engaged. I know of other local businesses wanting to remain in La Plata County that feel the same.

I am generally resistant to increased taxes, however, I am confident that an investment in quality air transportation infrastructure will pay dividends into our local economy now and well into the future. The financial impact to me, as a property owner, and as a business owner operating in a challenging commodity price environment, will be considerable. Nevertheless, I am in full support of the project.

I would urge other La Plata County residents to vote in favor of Ballot Issue 1B.
