As part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, members of Hillcrest Golf Club’s maintenance crew got soaked by ice water Friday to support their friend and former employee Steve Folk, who suffers from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease). Folk (not pictured) watched as golf course superintendent Ken Kirby used a front end loader to dump the frigid water on, from left to right, Will Herz, Eric Dunn (hidden from view), Peter Dunn, Max Swanson, Chris Balchunas, Tim Cox and Ethan Riser. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
