Rules designed to protect our environment are an important responsibility of government, and these regulations must be rooted in the evidence provided by the best-available science. Additionally, discussions on these rules must be evidence-based and not based on unfounded allegations.
Colorado has implemented some of the best, evidence-based regulations in the nation that serve to protect the environment while allowing for the responsible development of natural gas and oil. Assertions that hydraulic fracturing has caused wide-spread groundwater contamination are not supported by evidence, yet they are unfortunately repeated.
