The so-called problem of transferring credits from one school to another was quite exaggerated. Furthermore, it is simply not true “FLC is the only public college in the state with a mixture of three and four credit classes,” (Herald, Feb. 3).

I am perplexed as well by the decision of the powers-that-be to hold one of the two spring graduation ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, as opposed to a mid-morning and early afternoon ceremony. Certainly, this is not for the convenience of the students and family members involved, even though this is their (the students’) graduation.

Thus far, I have received no good explanation for this, and it has not yet been publicized which students are going to graduate when. I am sure I am not the only person with family members for whom this would be a hardship. Fort Lewis needs to rethink this, although just like the credit switch, it appears as if it is a done deal with no further explanation.
