Denver’s airport administration should invite a college class in logistics or systems analysis to improve their newest version of Albania, so that not every single flight is delayed or canceled, weather not included. The Durango-La Plata County Airport should do the same for its baggage handling to reduce the 45-minute wait to move your bag 50 yards. Perhaps save all the money spent on consultants, and hire more than three people to run the airport?
How can increasing the size of the airport possibly create a better travel experience until more obvious, low-cost options are instituted first? Any middle or high school class could come up with better plans for efficient operations. I wouldn’t fly in or out of the Durango airport unless there were no connections, or it didn’t matter when I arrived at my destination.
Let’s find a better way to spend our tax dollars.
