Along with wandering through the light displays, event-goers ate s’mores, hot cocoa and chili provided by members of First United Methodist Church in Durango. Jaden has been treated at Children’s Hospital in Denver but recently was able to return to Durango with his family to continue treatment here.
Donations are still being accepted at www.gofundme.com/25nvuyk or by calling Cindy at 759-5576. Other event sponsors included Atmos Energy and Momo’s Pies. Staff members from Upper Pine River Fire volunteered their time at the event, as well.
The event culminated with a huge fireworks show provided by RV park owner Mack Coker. Jaden got to shoot off the first few shells under Coker’s guidance.
