Growing pains continued for the Fort Lewis College women’s golf team Monday at the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Stampede Invitational at the La Paloma Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas.
FLC shot a 407 as a team in the first round, which placed the Skyhawks last out of 15 teams.
Jessica Thulson shot a 14-over-par 85 to lead FLC, which tied her for 43rd place.
Lauren Trujillo finished the round in a tie for 69th for FLC with a 96, Lindsey Blythe in 75th with a 106 and Myranda Crawford in 78th with a 122.
Newman topped the team leaderboard with a 291, and CSU-Pueblo’s Leina Kim led the individual round with a 67.
The second round will begin Tuesday morning.
