Even with 40 extra minutes of double overtime soccer in back-to-back games, Caitlyn Espinosa still could not be scored on. The Fort Lewis College women’s soccer program’s junior goalkeeper was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday after three consecutive shutouts – a 1-0 victory Sept. 21 at New Mexico Highlands, then scoreless draws against CSU-Pueblo and Western State on Friday and Sunday at Dirks Field. Espinosa made six saves on the weekend, has 25 saves against seven allowed in seven games and owns a .94 goals against average and a 2-3-2 record. FLC (2-3-3, 1-1-2 RMAC) will host Adams State (1-6-1, 0-3-1 RMAC) at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dirks Field.
