A woman next to me at the counter offered to give me a $20 bill to cover the expense. Then the man behind the counter upon hearing why I was in town, passed over a bag of cookies to take up to the hungry mouths waiting up at the field.

I was so moved by this experience, feeling the kindness and generosity of the people of Durango. It was the same at the well-organized event also with many friendly faces of the families watching their kids compete in a climate of good hospitality and sportsmanship .

Thank you to the good people of Durango for such a special day.
