“Those commuting home toward Bayfield may hit a bit of delay” said Billy McDermott, CDOT maintenance supervisor. “We will have a spotter at Elmore’s corner monitoring the traffic queue so we don’t plug the intersection for any length of time.”
A piece of paving equipment needed repairs shortly after the project was started earlier today.
McDermott added that once the equipment was fixed, it was necessary to continue working through the evening, “We determined it was safer to complete the work rather than leaving a stretch of uneven pavement in the center of the highway.”
The traveling public is urged to be patient, drive slowly, and watch for work crews and heavy equipment.
