Only 77 of 181 lodges that applied were awarded grants, and Durango was the only lodge in Colorado.
This grant will be used to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Colorado to create a mentorship program at Animas Valley Elementary School. The Elks will provide mentors, activity supplies and materials for the program.
