Don was born Oct. 5, 1957 in Durango to John and Leta Sauer. He grew up in Durango. After residing in Florida, Farmington, Phoenix, and Parker, he returned to live in Durango in 2004.
Mr. Sauer worked at Bond Construction for several years.
He is survived by his mother Leta Sauer of Durango, sisters: Sandra McCord of Denver, Lindy Harris of Brownfield, Tex., and Dora McLaughlin of Raleigh, N.C.
