Stuart argues that the same socioeconomic dynamics that existed in Chaco before its decline now, in his opinion, are extant in our society. Stuart writes: “This profound fact of an energy flow flatline (in terms of Kcals and gigacals) led me to apprehend that the particularly well-placed of this growth-oriented American system might have begun to react by clawing for an even larger share of this increasingly static pie before the rest of us figured it out.”
Why is it I have not read about this “flatline in total energy flow” in the mainstream media? Is this model accounting for Chaco failure prescient for the U.S.? If so, we’re in trouble.
