Hayden Sill and the Durango High School baseball team have their eyes set on Southwestern League win No. 2 against Montezuma-Cortez. The rivals will face off at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at DHS. The Demons have struggled this season against a murderer’s row of talented league teams but beat the Panthers 12-1 the last time they met. DHS (5-10, 1-6 SWL) is hitting .295 as a team with nine home runs. Senior Casey Dunlap has hit five of them on his own. Montezuma-Cortez (6-10, 0-7 SWL), on the other hand, has hit better than the Demons at .327 but has played a much softer schedule than the Demons.
