Local students impressed Nazario with their in-depth questions about immigration, our country’s related policies, Nazario’s investigative process for writing the book, as well as inquiries about the profession of journalism. Durango Education Foundation, a nonprofit community organization, deserves thanks for providing all eighth-grade students the funding for books as well as Nazario’s inspiring presentation. Since 1984, this local organization has been fueling enrichment and unique educational experiences for all 9-R students.

We would like to thank Elizabeth Testa and the dedicated board of DEF for making this experience and so many others possible for the students in our community, year after year.
