The event is free, open to all, and will feature drawings, door prizes, food, afternoon ice cream and a live broadcast by Four Corners Broadcasting. More than 20 pet-food representatives will be available to answer questions and give samples, and Durango Kennel Club will sponsor a “Meet the Breed” event with American-Kennel-Club-registered breeds.

La Plata County Humane Society, Annie’s Orphans and D-SNiP will have booths with dogs and cats up for adoption, and Papa John’s Pizza will sell pizza by the slice.

Proceeds support animal rescue. Customers are encouraged to donate.
