Inspiration Square will be a new public space for healing, art and community gatherings in Ignacio.
The square is located at the entrance to Ignacio ELHI, where the former elementary school now houses a community arts center, two schools, a church and other community agencies.
“It’s going to be an awesome thing,” said Ula Gregory as she painted a bench Tuesday in the square. The open space includes a memorial bench, a huge metal tree, murals, flowers, and a picnic bench.
A fall festival and ribbon cutting for the new facility will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5. Food will be provided by Pine River Shares youth volunteers.
