As a result, finding a new establishment that transcends our local eateries to a magical experience has me sitting down to write about this culinary trip. Ice cream is one area in which I consider myself to be a true connoisseur. Durango’s Cream Bean Berry’s products took me to a place I doubt our new legal marijuana retailers will ever be able to market.
The texture and taste of flavors, such as Honey Whiskey, make you forget about our supercilious politicians and take you to a gastronomic nirvana. For months, I drove past the little chalkboard sign on East Third Avenue not knowing what I was missing. Thankfully, my daughter told me she heard their Honey Lavender ice cream was “out of this world.” I promptly bought her a pint, and a Dark Chocolate pint for myself. My pint didn’t make it home.
Since our first trip, we continue to try new flavors without regret. As a necessary disclaimer, I do not have any interest whatsoever in the success of this establishment, other than the fact my waistline would do better if it failed. Nevertheless, this little ice-cream manufacturer may make one of Durango’s best products.
So, forgo the weed and try Honey Whiskey; or, if you have the munchies, then try them all.
