La Plata County has a clear choice for our county commissioner. The story (Herald, Sept. 28) regarding the commissioner race reveals the difference in the candidates. Both note the difficulties in gaining approval for projects.

Brad Blake has stated that he will do his best to keep the Environment Protection Agency and the Colorado Division of Transportation out of the county. He states that he is a conservative and believes in smaller government and has offered no solution to what he perceives to be anti-business.

Cynthia Roebuck has spent 15 years as a planning consultant and she knows in order to deal with these issues we need a clear, predictable process. Cynthia will work to amend the Land Use Code and support the Planning Commission in amending the Comprehensive Plan.

La Plata County needs a commissioner who will act on real issues with real solutions. I am casting my vote for Cynthia Roebuck and encourage you to vote for a rational moderate!
