I do, however, have a few corrections to make that were stated incorrectly in your story. There are currently two adult education programs in La Plata County: the Durango Education Center serves Durango and the Pine River Community Learning Center serves the Pine River Valley from Vallecito Lake to Navajo Lake, with two sites – one in Bayfield and one in Ignacio.

I am the executive director. Also housed at Pine River Community Learning Center is a two-way interactive broadcast system with Utah State University, where students can earn a certificate through a Ph. D. without leaving Ignacio or Bayfield. Pine River serves more than 700 students each year.
