Grant funds will help support more K-12 field trip opportunities in Durango and Southwest Colorado.
The field-trip incentive program will be open to K-12 teachers who participate in Durango OUT, CPW’s conservation-focused professional development institute. OUT-qualified teachers and their students will be connected with partnering science-education field trips, and GOCO funds will help defray the costs of fees and transportation.
Durango OUT partners will work with teachers to provide field trips, including trips to Durango Nature Studies, Mancos State Park, Durango Fish Hatchery, The Nature Center at Butler Corner and others.
To date, GOCO has invested more than $12.2 million in La Plata County and conserved more than 3,500 acres of land. GOCO invests a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance the state’s parks, trails, wildlife, rivers and open spaces.
