I have three kids who spent on average five days a week at Chapman Hill, either after school or after a full day skiing at Purgatory. Chapman Hill provides an excellent opportunity for kids to get fresh air, exercise in winter and practice their ski/snowboard skills. Even with the lack of snow in Durango and warm weather this winter, Chapman stayed open almost until March, which is a tribute to all the hard work going into maintaining a ski area in town. My kids can’t wait until next year, but in the meantime, they will be taking advantage of other Durango recreational activities, such as mountain biking, soccer and rafting.
Durango is an amazing place to raise kids.
