Durango Herald Facebook reader Derek Ryter submitted this week’s winning Caption This! headline: “So I tell her, ‘Seriously, I love black-headed grosbeaks, but I’m an evening grosbeak. See the yellow stripe? Right here!” And I’m trying to point to it but I don’t have fingers, so I say, ‘It’s right above my grosbeak. It’s yellow. The black-headed grosbeaks have a black one, which is fine – we’re all fine – I’m okay, you’re okay. But really, I’m an evening grosbeak … Could we get together later for some seeds and coffee?’ And she hears some chirping and just flies away.”

This week’s photo was sent by Joyce Rundhaug, who took a picture of some evening grosbeaks as they ate birdseed on her deck railing.
