Russ Geier, with Ski barn in Durango, sets out some of the 750 pairs of ski and snowboard boots Thursday that they are selling at the 60th annual Hesperus Ski Patrol Ski Swap from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Exhibit Hall at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. Seven vendors will fill the building with new and used gear. Geier has been doing the swap for 30 years with Ski Barn. Swaps help families to be able to afford to ski and snowboard, and Geier said seeing a child carrying their first pair of skies is why he does it. This is his last year doing the swaps.
