The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host a Lunch & Learn called “The ABC’s of Energy Policy” at noon Wednesday at First National Bank of Durango, 259 West Ninth St.

Lori Schell with Empowered Energy will present an alphabetical introduction to major factors affecting energy policy. Questions will be answered as they arise during the tutorial.

The cost is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Reservations are required.

Civil engineers to meet Thursday

The Southwest Colorado Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at The Irish Embassy Pub, 900 Main Ave.

Don May will discuss 22 projects in 17 villages in Asia and South America that the Village Aid Project-EWB at Fort Lewis College has completed since 2005. He will talk about how culture, politics and engineering converge in the developing world for such projects and how they affect decisions and project development.

The cost for dinner for members and guests will be $15 payable at the door.

Durango Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Keller Williams Realty Southwest Associates, 700 Main Ave.

The cost is $7 for chamber members and guests. The event will feature food, drinks and door prizes.
