SER Jobs For Progress National serving La Plata County and Southwest Colorado announces the addition of Katherine Taugelchee.
Taugelchee will assist with the placement of senior citizens in SER’s job training program. SER Jobs For Progress National is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. It assists people 55 and older who are unemployed. Low-income senior citizens in Montezuma County learn job skills in order to enhance their job opportunities. Senior citizens are placed in temporary work-experience assignments and are paid while learning. Taugelchee will accept calls from interested seniors citizens, as well as from La Plata County nonprofits, city, county and government entities who are in need of free long-term help.

Organization announces window-contest winners
The winners of the 2013 Holiday Window Display Competition, sponsored by the Durango Business Improvement District, are: Bank of Colorado, Bank of the San Juan’s drive-through, Beads and Beyond, Dolce, Karyn Gabaldon Gallery, Pet Haus, Renae Marie Apparel, Silk Sparrow, Tippy Canoe and YESS the Book Hutch. Each winner receives a $50 gift card to a downtown restaurant. Judging was held Noel Night, Dec. 6. The HOLiDAZZLE window display competition is part of the five-week umbrella marketing program sponsored by BID to help draw locals and visitors to Durango for shopping, dining, services, entertainment and fun.
