McLachlan responded, “As a former U.S. Marine, I understand and appreciate the need to uphold our Second Amendment, but I also know that we need meaningful action now to keep our community safe from gun violence. I support finding a balance between protecting law-abiding gun owners’ rights and protecting our communities, and I am encouraged that our state and our nation are now publicly debating assault weapons, ammunition and mental health. At this time, I am only inclined to support full background checks and mental-health screenings.”

Shortly afterward, McLachlan voted for all of Colorado’s restrictive new gun-control laws notwithstanding widespread opposition by Colorado voters and even the County Sheriffs of Colorado. What changed?

McLachlan was pressured to vote for the bills by the anti-gun Washington Democratic establishment. The pressure even included a personal telephone call from Vice President Joe Biden.

J. Paul Brown is a genuinely good man I’ve known personally for more than 12 years. J. Paul is a hard worker, a straight talker and a man of high ethical principles. If you have met him, you know he is a man who will look you in the eye and tell you the truth. He doesn’t use weasel words. When J. Paul says he supports your Second Amendment rights, you can know he means it. You can count on him to vote to protect them. He doesn’t answer to anyone in Washington. His loyalty is to the U.S. Constitution, the people of his district and the residents of Colorado.

Your vote is very important in this election! Vote to re-elect J. Paul Brown as our state representative!
