Let’s take a look at his voting record. During his time as a state representative, he voted against a bill to create a tax deduction for donations to the Public Education Fund. He voted against keeping our students safe when he voted against mandatory background checks for child care workers. He voted against a bill to prevent teen pregnancy and high school dropouts.

And to cap it all off, he voted for corporal punishment as a member of the Ignacio school board. This issue is very important to me because I went to a school that administered corporal punishment. Corporal punishment is inhumane and counterproductive to education. I understand this is an election year, but Brown’s bait-and-switch can only be described as the worst of politics. Instead of running on his record, he is attempting to mislead us. Our state and our children deserve better.

We will not easily forget J. Paul’s long record of voting against the best interests of our children.
