The Daily Camera reports Boulder’s city attorney filed a motion in municipal court to drop the charges against 54-year-old David Paul after Boulder County officials requested the action.

County officials say continuing the prosecution is not necessary or warranted.

Paul was cited with trespassing in November after beaming the image onto Boulder’s old courthouse building downtown.

The charge was later changed to unlawfully posting a sign on another’s property.

Paul pleaded not guilty last month. A municipal judge denied his motion to dismiss the case last week.

Paul did not immediately return the newspaper’s calls for comment.
