Jay Lynch volunteered his office in Bayfield as a drop-off point and donations poured in. Veronica Lasater and the Human Resources Department of the Southern Ute tribe delivered supplies before noon. Melanie Mazur spread the word in the Pine River Times. City of Durango employees stepped up. With no hesitation, Bayfield Napa Auto and Ryan Sower of Bayfield True-Value responded. Brenda Decker and Suzi White brought so much from Pagosa that I asked Amber Glasscock (organizer of a similar effort) for logistics help.

I couldn’t list all the names if I even knew them, but you know who you are, and I thank each of you from the depths of my heart.

It takes a village, not only to raise a child but to recover from disaster. A Bayside friend told me, “Everyone in Bayside needs help.” And with help from you, we now have supplies to help them. The generous spirit here in Southwest Colorado fills my heart.
