Bayfield athletes help win DYSA Shootout titles

The Durango Youth Soccer Association hosted the Durango Shootout tournament May 10-11, featuring numerous teams from the Four Corners. Several Bayfield athletes helped their respective teams to tournament titles.  Pictured from left to right are Bayfield Middle School students Grant Pierce and Chris Mooney of the Durango United U14 boys tournament championship team. Savannah Kaufmann and Lidia Larson play for the U14 Blast, also the girls tournament champions. Jael Larson, Mandy Pierce, and Claire Hufnagel play on the U12 Strikers, another winner of a tournament title. Not pictured are other Bayfield athletes with second place finishes, Caitlin Philips of the U14 En Fuego girls team, Tilden Berriman of the U13 Thunder Boys, and BES student Levi Larson of the U10 boys team.
